We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented OSHC Service Coordinator (WHS & Medical) to lead the work health and safety, medical compliance, and risk management functions at our dynamic Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service in Rochedale.
This permanent full-time role is a unique opportunity to take ownership of safety systems and contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of children, staff, and families in a supportive and community-focused environment.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our service not only meets but exceeds its WHS and medical obligations—helping us deliver a safe, engaging space where children thrive.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, confident with legislative compliance, and committed to promoting safety and wellbeing for children and staff alike. Your responsibilities with include but are not limited to:
Coordinating and maintaining WHS systems, audits, and compliance registers
Leading emergency drills, WHS inductions, and staff training
Managing first aid supplies, incident reports, and emergency preparedness
Ensuring timely renewal of Blue Cards, First Aid, CPR, and other certifications
Preparing internal and external WHS reports and documentation
Communicating clearly with families about medical plans and safety procedures
Drafting and distributing WHS communications, updates, and policy changes
Supporting the service’s readiness for internal and external audits
Assisting with the procurement of safety equipment and WHS resources
Ensuring all policies and procedures related to safety and medical care are current, accessible, and effectively implemented
All About You:
A solid understanding of WHS compliance in childcare or education settings
Strong organisation, communication, and documentation skills
A proactive mindset and ability to manage competing priorities
A passion for creating safe, inclusive spaces for children and staff
Essential Requirements:
Valid Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to complete)
Strong administrative and computer skills (MS Office, reporting tools)
Highly Desirable:
Experience in OSHC, education, or school-based WHS roles
Familiarity with the National Quality Framework and Department of Education standards
Knowledge of medical or health protocols in school/childcare environments
