The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Officer to join a close-knit team in a permanent, full-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payroll expertise, particularly in award interpretation, who enjoys working collaboratively in a small team environment.

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will work alongside the payroll officer and finance team supporting with end-to-end payroll processing and a range of accounts tasks.

• Assist with weekly processing for 300-400 employees;
• Understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation;
• Monitor and respond to payroll queries;
• Ensure accurate entry of timesheets and that employees are paid correctly as per the instrument that they operate under;
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions;
• Supplier reconciliations and other general accounting support; and
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting as required.

About You

• 3 + years proven experience as a payroll & accounts officer;
• Astute knowledge is desirable, but not essential;
• Strong EA/ Modern Award interpretation experience required;
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
• High level computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.
