Role Description:

The Payroll and Operations Support Officer provides support to payroll in Redland’s head office in Brisbane and is also the primary officer tasked with office management and administration support for Human Resources and Legal.

Primary responsibilities:

Payroll, human resources and legal administration and support

Assist in performing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll processing, month-end and year-end tasks and reconciliations.

Interpreting multiple Awards and EBAs.

First point of contact for the business for all payroll queries, in a friendly and positive manner.

Oversee general employee onboarding administration and co-ordination in Brisbane office

Assist with the preparation of policy and contract documentation such as new employment contracts, variations to standard hours of work, pay increases and end of probation advice.

Calculating termination payments and back-pays.

Ability to become back up for completing month-end processes.

Assist in maintenance of Workers Compensation records across multiple states.

Assist the Payroll Manager in the identification and improvement of payroll processes.

Undertake other tasks and projects to support payroll, human resources and legal functions.

Office management and administration

Responsible for administering and ordering pantry and consumable stock for kitchen facilities as well as general overseeing of services functionality.

Responsible for seating co-ordination and planning.

Liaising with IT for onboarding and exiting employees.

Managing staff business equipment and furniture requirements.

Organising office cleaners and other relevant service providers.

Monitoring office wear and tear (including end of trip facilities) and liaising with the landlord for repairs or other required actions.

Travel management and support for staff.

Skills and Experience:

Qualifications at diploma or tertiary level in business management or payroll discipline preferred but not essential.

Demonstrated experience in primary responsibility domains including min 1 year in a payroll related environment.

Previous experience and exposure to manufacturing, horticulture or transport industries will be highly regarded.

Strong digital literacy including use of payroll systems and Excel.

Excellent communication skills, strong team player and keen to develop and grow.
