Lawson Elliott Recruitment is collaborating with a national organisation to bring on a Senior Payroll Officer due to a recent opening within the team. This is a hands on role where you will be looking after the end to end Payroll function for all employees under the organisation whilst working closely with the Payroll Manager. You will be taking care of the fortnightly payroll processing and pay runs for the main business entity as well as the other small entities.

This is a great opportunity for a confident Senior Payroll Officer who is looking to challenge themselves further, suggest and implement new process' and work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure everything runs smoothly and deadlines are met.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your key responsibilities will be, but are definitely not limited to:

End to end Payroll processing (Fortnightly pay run)

Maintaining financial records accurately

Weekly and month end reporting of Payroll figures

Processing of expensive claims

Bank account reconciliations

Data entry

Interpretation of complex awards and EBA’s

Superannuation and termination calculations

Timesheets

Resolving discrepancies

Payroll compliance

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders

Managing the Payroll inbox & respond to queries

Ad-hoc duties as required

Ideal Candidate:

2+ years proven work experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar role

Proven high levels of attention to detail

Must be a team player and can effectively communicate with team members

A high level standard of time management and organisational skills

Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively within a team environment and autonomously

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience using HRIS and time and attendance systems
