About the role
As an Employee Relations Consultant at Peter Mac you will play a crucial role in providing specialist advice and support on a wide range of employment matters. A key function of the role is to support enterprise bargaining processes, implementation of new enterprise agreements and other entitlement related compliance activities.
You’ll also be responsible for:
Supporting leaders in managing staffing and performance matters
Managing complex employee relations matters
Undertaking workplace investigations
Advising leaders on best practice HR and organisation policy and procedures
Providing specialist IR advice on industrial instruments and employment legislation

About you
You will be someone who has prior experience in an ER/IR advisory role, with a proven ability to develop effective strategies, solutions and interventions to address the full range of employee relations matters. Experience in the public health sector or a related industry would be highly advantageous.
You’ll bring with you:
Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation and a proven ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, policies and procedures in a broad range of situations
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong client focus and the ability to develop effective working relationships with clients
Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills, including the ability to negotiate with staff at all levels and manage the resolution of disputes and grievances
Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters effectively
Ability to contribute as a collaborative and inclusive team member
