The Principal Consultant - Workplace Relations , sits within the Workplace Relations & Ethical Standards team but with a cross-functional scope and impact to project lead a comprehensive review of the governance of management of long-term ill and injured employees (work-related and non work-related), including policy, procedure and support mechanisms. This work will involve significant stakeholder engagement and collaboration across the agency and with FRV's industrial partners.

About the Role

The Principal Consultant - Workplace Relations is responsible for end to end project management, including developing project scopes and plans, consulting with a range of internal and external stakeholders, leading project working groups, and providing regular progress reports to FRV's Executive Leadership Team. The role is also responsible for research findings, presentations in relation to project deliverables, building and maintaining Industrial partnerships, case management, coaching and strategic planning.

Functional Accountabilities include:

Case management: Lead sensitive and complex HR processes related to the management of individual employees.

Pro-actively build and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to the UFU, AMWU and ASU and other bodies such as industry associations and regulators, where applicable.

Provide technical advice and coaching to colleagues across imultiple teams. This includes developing tools and resources that can be accessed by various stakeholders to ensure that all agreed processes and policies are applied correctly.

Contribute to team business-planning and strategy, including alignment of projects with FRV's Strategic plan, the People & Culture Strategic plan and departmental business plans.

What you will need to Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or related discipline and/or proven experience undertaking a similar role in a large and complex organisation.

Demonstrated experience in managing large projects within complex organisations.

Highly developed oral and written communication and negotiation skills, and ability to write in a clear and unambiguous manner.

Demonstrated experience providing high level technical advice (employment/industrial relations/injury management).

Demonstrated experience managing and engaging with stakeholders.

Ability to monitor and analyse industrial/ workplace issues, trends, case law and legislative change.

Management of policies, governance and process is advantageous.

FRV’s standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
