About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role contributes to the success of our projects, primarily focusing on the renewables and civil construction sectors. You’ll be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and developing comprehensive schedules for projects.

Ideally, you’re someone who… sharp eye for detail, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a strong understanding of Australian construction practices, codes, and supplier networks. You'll be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, so your ability to adapt and manage your workload effectively will be key.

To excel in this role, you'll need solid experience in renewables or civil construction estimating and scheduling, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Construction or Engineering. Your technical prowess will be critical, with demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel.

Ordinarily you will be expected to work Office hours at headoffice (Newcastle West) Monday to Friday with occasional visits to site adhering to site operation times.

Main duties and responsibilities

Reviewing tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions

Manage tenders and deliver competitive, well-documented proposals

Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers

Collaborate with Directors and PMs to ensure tender accuracy

Maintain records of estimates, revisions, proposals, and historical cost databases

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like MS Project / Primavera P6.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather project inputs and ensure accurate scheduling of milestones and deliverables.

Track and report on project progress, identifying and addressing scheduling risks or deviations from the baseline.

Experience and qualifications

Essential

Solid experience in renewables/ civil construction estimating/scheduling (ideally $5M–$30M projects)

Tertiary qualifications in Construction or Engineering

Understanding of Australian construction practices, codes, and supplier networks

High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Excel
