Stroud Homes Dubbo is owned & operated by local Dubbo home builder, Brad Acheson & his wife Lisa. With over 30 years of residential building under his belt, Brad leads our team bringing award-winning home designs to the region. Coming from a family of builders, Brad followed in his father’s footsteps, opening his own successful residential building business in 2001, which today constructs 15-20 homes every year for the residents of Dubbo & surrounding areas. Over the years Brad has managed to build up a fantastic trade base. Our team has a sound knowledge of council regulations & are familiar with the local conditions of all 7 LGA's we build in around the region. Brad & our team take pride in being honest & upfront to ensure only the highest of standards are met in all of our builds. About the role

Stroud Homes Dubbo is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, hardworking Construction Estimator to join our team. Both Junior & Senior Construction Estimators are encouraged to apply. As a Construction Estimator, you will work directly under the supervision of our Senior Construction Estimator & play a crucial role in providing accurate & comprehensive estimates for our construction projects in the Dubbo region & surrounding areas. Training will be provided according to your experience level. Our mission is to provide new home buyers with an outstanding, frictionless & stress free building experience, from the moment of enquiry – through to handing over their keys. You will be working in a fast paced environment, amongst a team of fun, hard working individuals who all share a passion for quality & commitment, to ensure we deliver only the highest of standards to our clients throughout the build process. Qualifications & experience

Experience in Construction Estimating within the residential building industry preferred but not essential

Ability to read & interpret architectural drawings, paying high attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy & precision

Have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, & pricing

Proficient in using estimating software & spreadsheet applications. Experience with Databuild software, On-Site Companion & Microsoft Excel would be an advantage

Be an energetic team player, who is self motivated with a proactive attitude to achieve results

Must hold a current Drivers Licence

Ability to multitask & problem solve, work well under pressure & adhere to deadlines

Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work unsupervised

Be trustworthy, committed & punctual

Tasks & responsibilities

Quantity take offs

Create budgets & complete purchase orders using Databuild software

Estimating, both pre-sales & production budgeting

Cost control & quantity management

Planning & scheduling

Updating price catalogue in Databuild based on Supplier rates

Cost Reporting to ensure budgets and estimated margins are met

Liaise with Suppliers, Contractors

Report directly back to our Senior Construction Estimator
