An experienced, Senior Civil Estimator is sought who’s looking for a new challenge, larger projects, and a well-structured company, offering growth and the opportunity for career development.

Position Overview:
A senior role in a small but growing estimating team, ideally you will come up to speed quickly and add value to their ‘winning formula’, with the view to lead!

The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in tender and bid preparation, estimating, and driving growth, both in the estimating division, and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimation process for civil construction projects from concept to completion.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and related documents, and break down the project, as to how they perform the work.
• Develop detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns from 1st principles for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Identify potential risks and provide value solutions.
• Prepare bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine estimates and address project requirements.
• Research market trends, pricing, and supplier costs.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client negotiations, and project handover.

Essential Qualifications & Experience includes:

• A period of on-site civil construction experience in your career development will be highly beneficial and well regarded, but not essential.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred, however other relevant qualifications and appropriate experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction estimating, from 1st Principles.
• Proficiency in estimating software, ideally MudShark, Cubit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, etc.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and industry best practices, able to create budgets for duration, and programming.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
• Proven experience in leading bid processes and working with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Expert in execution of document preparation, cost estimation, risk assessment, compliance checks, and strategic bid submission.

An attractive remuneration package is on offer, circa $160 - $220kpa, + Super, and fully maintained company vehicle (FMCV).
