Overview

RYAN AEROSPACE is a vibrant and innovative company providing flight simulators to commercial and military customers globally. We are looking for an experienced Permanent / Part Time Accountant or Bookkeeper willing to work the equivalent of up to three days per week. The role is located at our Gold Coast-based facility in Nerang.

Flexible work hours will be offered to the successful candidate.

Experience with Microsoft Business Central and Wiise or other similar ERP software would be highly desirable.

Position Description

1. Bookkeeping / finance

Weekly processing of receipts and payments including ensuring that all transactions are posted to bank account

Weekly and month-end reconciliation of Bank Accounts and credit cards to ensure that the balance per the general ledger agrees to the balance on the bank statement

Month-end reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Accounts Payable to ensure that the balance per the general ledger agrees to the balance in the subsidiary ledgers. Check that long outstanding Debtors and Creditors are correct including confirmation with Operations Manager if necessary

Month-end reconciliation of Customer Prepayments or Deposits to ensure the balance per the general ledger agrees to actual client prepayments

Month-end reconciliation of fixed asset balances to ensure the balance per the general ledger agrees to depreciation schedule. Check that automated monthly depreciation journals are correct

Update Asset Register/Depreciation Schedule for any assets acquired or disposed of during the period, including accounting for gain or loss on disposal

Month-end reconciliation of Purchase Prepayments to ensure amounts included in month-end balance is correct including confirmation with Operations Manager if necessary

Month-end reconciliation of Sales Prepayment accounts to ensure amounts included in month-end balance is correct including confirmation with Operations Manager if necessary

Preparation and lodgement of IAS’s and BAS’s and reconciliation of GST and PAYGW accounts in the general ledger to ensure they are correct and agree to BAS’s lodged

Month-end reconciliation of Employee Provisions (AL and LSL) to ensure the balance per the balance sheet agrees to payroll records

Month-end reconciliation of Wages & Superannuation to ensure balances per the general ledger agree to payroll reports

Review repairs and maintenance and other similar accounts to ensure capital expenditure is capitalised, not expensed

Where large annual prepayments exist (e.g. insurance) ensure these are capitalised as Prepayments and standing journals set up to allocate evenly (i.e. monthly) over the full year.

Review monthly P&L to check for anomalies or negative balances (e.g. large variances) and ensure related transactions are correctly treated

Month-end reconciliation of any external finance leases or HP’s including apportionment of repayments between principal reduction and interest expense

Month-end accounts to be completed by close of business on second Friday of the following month

Maintain appropriate records (preferably electronic) in relation to the above to facilitate checking

Accurate processing of employee payroll records for approval and payment

2. Administration

Liaise with customers and delivery personnel

Organise catering where required

Assistance with organisation of trade shows and other events, including liaising with key stakeholders as required

3. Marketing and business development

Management and maintenance of marketing databases / CRM (customers and prospects)

Coordination of periodic (e.g. monthly) electronic direct mail (EDM’s) to ensure it happens, including chase up of team members for articles

Preparation and distribution of media releases as and when required

4. Human resources

Ensure weekly and fortnightly wages are processed and paid by due date

Development, maintenance and administration of HR policies and procedures

Liaise with HR Consultant to discuss HR issues as they arise
