Public Practice Accounts Payable Clerk / Bookkeeper

Hybrid / Brisbane-Based or Remote (conditions apply)

Minimum 25 hours+ per week

$35–$40 per hour + superannuation (based on experience & qualifications)

AVH Business Services is a well-established and forward-thinking practice providing Bookkeeping, Payroll, BAS, and HR Intermediary services across Australia. Our client base spans industries including construction, trades, allied health, and retail.

We’re specialists in Xero (with some MYOB and industry-specific clients), and we focus on streamlining processes and implementing robust systems for our clients. We take a holistic approach to business solutions, ensuring that our clients receive consistent, proactive support.

Due to ongoing referrals and demand from existing growing clients, we are seeking someone to join our team of 16 high achievers and take ownership of a portfolio of valued clients.

📋 REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or equivalent experience)

A minimum of 3 years experience in an accounts role if no Certificate IV

Xero proficiency required

MYOB and construction software experience highly regarded

Tech-savvy with a strong desire to learn

3+ days per week preferred (part-time or full-time considered)

🧾 RESPONSIBILITIES (depending on experience):

Accounts payable and receivable

End-to-end payroll, superannuation and STP

BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, TPAR, Fuel Tax Credit preparation

Financial reporting, cashflow forecasting and budgeting

Xero setups and conversions

WorkCover and Long Service Leave returns

Client support and software training

Assistance with grant applications

Experience in systems such as Workbench, Tradify, SimPro, Buildertrend, ServiceM8, Jonas Premiere etc. is a bonus — otherwise, training provided

🕓 HOURS & FLEXIBILITY:

Our office hours are 7am–5pm, Monday to Friday. We work with each team member to find a schedule that suits them — whether that’s three full days, spread across shorter shifts, or something more unique.

No one works more than 38 hours per week — and no one is expected to answer calls or emails outside of work hours.
