About the role

Beretta Australia is a leading distributor of some of Australia's most iconic brands within the firearms and outdoor sporting goods industry.

The Freight Co-Ordinator’s primary focus will be to optimize logistic operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods both nationally and abroad.

This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Organise and schedule transportation of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

Source and negotiate the best freight rates for bulky shipments, including contracts with freight carriers, and monitor carrier performance.

Analyse freight costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities as well as tracking freight expenditures.

Address shipment delays and other issues that may arise in the logistics process.

Maintain and present accurate monthly reports to the Warehouse Manager on freight performance and costs.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to freight transportation.

Arrange container drop-off and collections.

Practise and ensure safe work practices in a safe working environment within company OH&S policies and procedures.

Additional ad-hoc duties as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Freight Co-Ordinator or in a similar logistics role is required.

Strong understanding of freight management processes and transportation regulations

Ability to negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.

Effective communication to interact with stakeholders.

Ability to identify issues, proactivity, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software and tools.

Forklift licence is highly regarded.

Firearms licence and industry/firearms experience preferred, but not necessary.
