Position Title: Enterprise Technology Architect

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (with possible extension)

Location | Salary: Canberra, ACT | $96 - $150 per hour + 12% superannuation

Security Clearance/Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Australia; Baseline clearance preferred

Working Arrangements: Full-time onsite or hybrid negotiable

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Enterprise Technology Architect to support a large government agency’s digital transformation. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering modern, scalable, and reusable technology solutions to align with a product-based operating model. This position will influence technology selection, support architecture strategy, and lead the integration of enterprise systems using contemporary cloud and low-code technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Business Architect to shape future-state technology architecture
  
  

• Lead the evaluation and selection of fit-for-purpose digital technologies
  
  

• Provide architectural oversight and leadership to teams delivering data, integration, and low-code platforms
  
  

• Define reusable solution patterns to accelerate delivery
  
  

• Work with delivery teams to implement design standards and government best practices
  
  

• Produce high-quality documentation and progress reports
  
  

• Ensure technology outcomes are cost-effective, sustainable, and aligned with business goals
  
  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Relevant degree in Information Technology, Digital Systems, or a related field
  
  

• Proficiency in architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Australian Government Architecture Framework (AGAF)
  
  

• Demonstrated experience in major digital government programs
  
  

• Strong background in cloud-based architecture, RESTful APIs, and composable systems
  
  

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
  
  

• Ability to influence stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
  
  

• Understanding of agile delivery, reusability, and integration principles
  

ELIGIBILITY

• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  
  

• Ability to obtain or hold a government security clearance (Baseline or above)
