Are you an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in Identity Access Management (IAM), security architecture, and complex enterprise design? A leading Federal Government department is seeking skilled professionals to support a major transformation program.

Location: Canberra (Onsite preferred)

Clearance:Australian Citizenship & Active Baseline Security Clearance – Mandatory

Contract Term: Until 30 June 2026 + 2 x 12-month extension options

About the Role
As a Solution Architect, you’ll provide critical technical leadership and consultancy services across multiple key initiatives within the department. You’ll be responsible for designing secure, scalable, and innovative architecture solutions supporting the Department’s Identity & Access Management goals.
You will:

• Engage stakeholders to confirm business and system requirements.
• Develop Security System Design documents and technical diagrams.
• Conduct impact assessments and recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Lead architecture and security design of cloud-based IAM systems.
• Deliver designs aligned to Essential 8, Whole of Government Digital Identity, PAM, and Single Sign-On initiatives.

Required Expertise (SFIA Levels)
Essential Criteria

• Consultancy (L6): Lead the provision of consultancy services and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Enterprise & Business Architecture (L5): Develop models and strategies to improve performance.
• Innovation (L6): Drive innovation processes and organisational capabilities.
• Software Design (L5): Design complex systems, ensuring functional and security compliance.
• Solution Architecture (L5): Lead solution development and integration governance.
• Systems Design (L6): Guide design across strategic, complex programs.

Technical Skills

• In-depth experience with IAM standards (SAML2, OAuth2, OIDC)
• Administration of IBM IAM technologies (ISIM, ISVA)
• Privileged Access Management implementation
