Business Architect – Department of Defence

Are you an experienced Business Architect with a deep understanding of Defence operations and a background in business analysis? Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and maintenance of business architecture artefacts that align with Defence’s strategic objectives.

Engage with senior stakeholders to capture, analyse, and validate business needs.

Translate business strategies into structured architectural plans and roadmaps.

Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and delivery teams to ensure consistent alignment across business and technical domains.

Contribute to enterprise capability uplift by embedding architectural practices into planning and delivery processes.

Optimise existing Business processes, to cater for Departmental IT landscape change.

Produce new optimised Business Processes, to cater for Departmental IT landscape change.

Essential Requirements:

5+ years’ experience as a Business Architect, with proven success delivering outcomes in large or complex environments.

Prior experience as a Business Analyst, with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

Defence experience (5+ years) is highly desirable, including a strong grasp of departmental frameworks, policies, and operating models.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
