We are a busy ophthalmic practice located in a beautiful rural setting in NSW, dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to our community. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team.

In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. You will play a vital part in the efficient running of our clinic, contributing to the delivery of outstanding healthcare.

About the Role:

As our Medical Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:

Warmly greeting and assisting patients, both in person and over the phone.

Managing a busy appointment schedule and patient flow.

Accurately updating and maintaining patient records.

Processing billing and payments.

Liaising with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals.

Handling general administrative tasks to support the practice.

We would be pleased to welcome an applicant with one to two years of experience in a related industry, who demonstrates aptitude and the desire to expand your skills

About You:

We are looking for someone who possesses:

Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist, ideally within a specialist practice (ophthalmic experience highly regarded but not essential).

Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour.

A strong understanding of patient confidentiality and medical ethics.

Proficiency in medical practice software (such as Medilink, MedicalDirector, Best Practice) is a plus).

A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

A genuine desire to contribute positively to patient outcomes.
