Suburban thai is a newly established restaurant based in Conder ACT. We are looking for a strong, passionate, organised and motivated individual to work with our team.

Key Responsibilities

● Work closely with management to plan menus and estimate food and staffing costs.

• Handle food ordering and keep track of inventory to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

• Oversee the quality of food during preparation, cooking, and presentation stages.

• Coordinate with managers, dietitians, kitchen, and service staff regarding food preparation and service details.

• Guide kitchen staff by demonstrating cooking methods and sharing best practices.

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes.

• Ensure all hygiene, food safety, and workplace health standards are followed at all times.

• Take part in hiring and training new kitchen staff when needed.

• Manage food preservation, including freezing, to maintain proper stock levels.

Skills & Experience Required

● Proven experience as a Chef (minimum of 1 year preferred)

● Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are highly regarded

● Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality output

● Excellent communication and teamwork skills

● Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods, menu variations, and kitchen technology
