We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Kitchen Leadership Team as Sous Chef! We are looking for an experienced and qualified Chef who is a self-starter and thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our team on a Full-Time basis.
This position is classified under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020. The Salary range for the Sous Chef position is $77,000 - $82,000 p/a plus superannuation, based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
Objectives
Reporting to the Head Chef/Group Executive Chef, the key objectives of the Sous Chef position are to manage the day-to-day kitchen operations of the venue, driving excellence in all aspects of food preparation and service, while supervising and building a positive team culture for all kitchen staff. The successful candidate for the role will be working with a variety of internal stakeholders to ensure food quality and consistency throughout the venue, while meeting food safety and sanitation standards daily.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef/Group Executive Chef in ensuring the efficient operation of all food areas across the venue
Food preparation and service duties in accordance with restaurant procedures and guidelines
Minimising wastage through conscious supervision of food preparation methods and goods security
Ensuring efficient stock rotation to ensure food quality is maintained
Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen, as well as the appropriate utilisation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
Adhere to WHS policy and procedures
Assist in the development and implementation of efficient and effective work procedures, and process improvements
Provision of direction and support to all kitchen staff
Any other duties as listed in the PD for the role, or as directed by Management
Sous Chef Position Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or other relevant qualification
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a kitchen role, with relevant experience in a kitchen leadership position
Experience working in a Club kitchen environment, with relevant understanding of industry food preparation and service standards
A team player, who can lead by example and contribute to the motivation of the team, encouraging a positive culture
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Flexibility and availability to work around a varying roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Someone with a passion for food trends who is constantly looking at opportunities for professional development
