Human Resources Officer (Casual – 2 Days per Week)

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled Human Resources Officer to help manage the full spectrum of HR operations in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR professional to join us on a casual basis (2 days per week). The role offers flexibility and variety, with a strong focus on compliance, employee relations, and operational HR support.
This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of HR experience and strong knowledge of Fair Work legislation and Modern Awards (SCHADS preferred). You’ll work closely with the management team to ensure best practice HR processes and a safe, fair, and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, interviewing, and onboarding
Ensure a smooth and professional experience for new employees
HR Support & Compliance
Provide guidance to managers and staff on entitlements, conditions, and Awards under the Fair Work Act
Draft and issue employee documentation including contracts, warnings, and policy updates
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in line with legislative requirements
Employee Relations & Performance
Support and lead performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace investigations
Promote fair and consistent practices across all staffing matters
Training, WHS & Systems Oversight
Maintain registers for training, licences, and compliance documentation
Assist with WHS requirements to support a safe and compliant work environment
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems
Skills and Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a Human Resources role (generalist or officer level)
Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and Australian employment legislation
Experience handling HR documentation, contracts, and formal correspondence
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g. Deputy, Connecteams)
Mandatory Requirements
Current NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
Understanding of the disability or community services sector (mandatory)
