Mackay Regional Council is seeking an analytical and motivated Project Compliance Inspector to join our dynamic Portfolio Management Office on a permanent, full-time basis. About this opportunity:
In this niche role, you will:
- Ensure Compliance: Guarantee that external contractors working on behalf of Mackay Regional Council adhere strictly to our construction compliance obligations. This includes oversight of Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management practices.
- Provide Expert Input: Use your technical expertise to contribute to constructability reviews. You will advise Contracts Project Managers by offering guidance on construction-related inquiries and verifying contractor claims.
- Maintain Records: Oversee detailed record-keeping, conduct thorough inspections, and manage quality management documents for an array of public utility projects with a civil, roads, and/or water industry emphasis.
Your work ensures that every project not only meets but exceeds the expectations in quality and safety standards.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Formal Qualification: A building trade qualification in a related field such as a carpenter, plasterer, electrician, plumber, roofer, or a Certificate III in civil construction or water. Or a drainers licence
- Relevant Training: Current General Construction Induction Training.
- Licensing: A valid QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or its interstate equivalent.
- Construction Experience: Previous work in The Building Industry, broad contracting and construction environments, particularly with public utilities projects.
- Hands-on Expertise: Proven experience in construction supervision, inspection and monitoring, record keeping, and quality management document control.

- Base annual salary of $ $86,824.92 - $95,154.28 (dependent on experience and qualifications of the successful applicants) plus allowances as applicable
