Lifeline WA is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Community Engagement Coordinator that is seeking a part time role with an opportunity to take the lead on planning exciting events to promote and raise awareness of mental health supports and services.

Lifeline WA is the state’s leading provider of crisis support and suicide prevention services. Over the past year, we have supported over 100 000 people with the provision of counselling, specialist support groups, and training programs. As a NFP, Lifeline WA’s purpose is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis, and reduce the stigma that can be a barrier to seeking help. Our vision is a community free of suicide.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be collaborating with our partners, community organisations, community members, mental health professionals and local government to coordinate wellbeing promotional activities throughout rural WA. This is a part time position for 20 hours per week across 4 days (negotiable days and hours).
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the following:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Lifeline WA partners and community stakeholders to coordinate meaningful engagements in the regional WA
Coordinate with internal staff, partners and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as the liaison to community leaders and industry members throughout the activity planning and delivery
Use your marketing background to successfully promote the activities within the community to maximise engagement
All event logistics including, booking trainers and ambassadors, flights, accommodation, venue, catering, promotional material and merchandise
Consult with the local community to do a needs analysis of what activities will best suit the region, then capture feedback and data to report on the success of the activity

The Successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated events management skills and experience in community engagement (Essential)
Experience in a coordinator role, with a proven ability to develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies in remote communities (Essential)
High level of communication skills and able to communicate effectively and engage with relevant organisations and community members
Independent worker, with the ability to take ownership of and drive initiatives and stakeholder experience
Confidence in public speaker (Desirable)
Flexibility to travel to regional WA when required
Flexibility in working hours
Required documents:
National Police Clearance
WA Drivers Licence
Working with Children Check
Proof of eligibility and right to work in Australia
