The Role
Join our dynamic Community Development team at the Town of Cambridge as we work to enhance access and inclusion in our community. With your knowledge in disability inclusion and accessibility you will undertake a range of activities required for the delivery of council programs, services and events. Your expertise will help drive the implementation and monitoring of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, aiming to remove barriers and create a more inclusive environment for people with disability. Additionally, you will support the Town’s volunteers and delivery of our Community Organisations Support Grant program. What we are looking for
The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and Helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience in program and event development, coordination and evaluation with a particular focus on Disability Access and Inclusion, Volunteering and Community Grant programs.
Demonstrated understanding of Community Development principles, along with the current trends in Disability Access and Inclusion, Volunteering and the delivery of Community Grant programs including program funding, sponsorship and evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and key external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and shared goals.
Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently to deliver timely outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports for broad scope audiences and the facilitation/coordination of group activities.
Formal qualification in a related discipline is highly desirable.
Eligibility
Australian working rights (birth certificate, current passport or current visa).
Current Provide First Aid Certificate (can be obtained through the Town on successful appointment).
