The Team:
Perioperative Services broadly encompasses the following patient care areas: Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA), Holding Bay, Operating Theatres, Procedure Rooms, Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (PARU), Short Stay Surgery - overnight, Short Stay Surgery - day area and the Endoscopy/Day Procedure Unit. As a member of the Perioperative Services operational support team, the Perioperative Support Services Officer provides cleaning, transport, administrative and other support services to ensure effective and efficient operation of the allocated area within Perioperative Services, ultimately contributing to safe quality patient care.
The Role:

- Transporting patients and equipment, ensuring timely and efficient surgical workflows.
- Assisting clinical staff by managing supplies and maintaining sterile environments.
Their work directly supports surgeons, nurses, and anaesthetists, enabling them to focus on patient care. Without this role, the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of surgical procedures would be significantly compromised, impacting patient outcomes and overall hospital operations.
You will need:
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
- Physical capacity to perform manual handling tasks, including the safe movement and positioning of patients and equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality in a healthcare setting.
