The Role
In this role - Business Development Manager - Environmental Services, you'll be focused on expanding environmental service offerings across key sectors including local councils, Pacific Island Governments, Mining, and regional projects.
You'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing tenders, driving growth through strategic relationships, and supporting the broader sales team with technical insights. The role is ideal for someone with both waste industry know-how and a sharp commercial mindset.
This is a position for someone who understands environmental services and wants to make an impact in a growing market.
On a Typical Day You Will:
- Build relationships with councils, mining, remediation & organic clients
- Manage a sales pipeline and CRM with accurate tracking and reporting
- Lead the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals
- Collaborate with operations to align capabilities with client needs
- Research market trends and identify new sales opportunities
- Report on sales outcomes and strategy execution to the QLD Sales Manager
- Apply your knowledge of chemistry, landfill criteria, and disposal processes to support solution development
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' business development experience with a strong track record
- Industry background in waste management (hazardous waste preferred)
- Project or contract management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bonus points for knowledge of chemistry or environmental regulations
