Family run business located in Eastern Creek, NSW operating 70 prime movers throughout the East Coast.

About the role

Palm Trans’ requires a Transport operations manager for their Sydney depot. As a Transport operations manager you will be in contact with both freight customers and our drivers daily, moving between the office and warehouse for loading.

Key responsibilities:

Forklift loading and unloading

Using the company's transport management system to plan loads and create manifests

Allocating general freight with multiple drops

Allocating daily direct linehaul routes with key customers

Liaising with freight customers via phone and email

Liaising with Palm Trans rigid, single and B-Double drivers daily

Liaising with our Melbourne and Brisbane operations teams

Ensure consignment notes and manifests are completed for the purpose of client invoicing and driver/sub-contractor payments

Manage drivers to ensure compliance with fatigue management and other company policies and procedures

Successful applicants must have:

Current and unrestricted MC license

Current and unrestricted Forklift license

Two excellent references

Proficient communication skills (phone and email)

Solid computer skills (Outlook, excel/google sheets)

Have the ability to think, adapt and learn quickly

Experience in the transport and freight industry (desired but not essential)

Experience with transport management software: ICS (desired but not essential)

DG license (desired but not essential)

Dangerous goods loading knowledge (desired but not essential)

Strong understanding of all facets of compliance including; driver hours, fatigue management and truck/trailer sizes axle mass limits will be advantageous
