About the role

Grand Hotel is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and create exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a contract role, this position will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen staff management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

Develop and execute innovative seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise

Manage and mentor a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation

Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure the kitchen's operations align with the overall strategic vision of the hotel

Monitor food costs and inventory to maintain profitability and efficiency

Ensure the kitchen adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations

Foster a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

At least 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within the hospitality industry

A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing kitchen teams

Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu development, and food costing

Strong understanding of food safety and health regulations

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the broader hotel team

Creativity and a passion for using fresh, local ingredients to create memorable dishes
