We’re currently seeking a passionate and organised Weddings and Events Floor Manager to join our team.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on leadership position focused on running the floor during weddings, functions, conference dinners, and other events. The Weddings and Events Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations during their shift, managing service staff, and ensuring every guest enjoys a flawless experience. Please note: this is not a coordination/admin role.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
Greet and assist guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Address any guest enquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure that our clients have everything they need throughout the event, including special requests or accommodations.
Event Execution:
Monitor the event flow to ensure a smooth experience.
Work under the direction of the wedding/event coordinator during the first part of the event, following their instructions and supporting their plans. Once they depart, take full responsibility for running the floor and ensuring the remainder of the event runs smoothly.
Provide efficient, friendly, and professional food and beverage service to all guests.
Coordinate with the kitchen team, bartenders, and other front-of-house staff to ensure service standards are met.
Assist chefs with plate-ups as needed to ensure timely and accurate food service.
Use quieter periods during events to clean and organise bar areas, restock supplies, reorganise storage cupboards, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of service items and equipment.
Team Leadership:
Supervise front-of-house staff to ensure they are attentive and responsive to guest needs.
Conduct pre-event and post-event briefings with the team to review responsibilities and event details.
Train and mentor new team members.
Assist in introducing and upholding new management procedures and standard operating protocols to improve consistency and service quality across events.
Problem Resolution:
Handle any issues or challenges that arise during the event with a calm and solution-oriented approach.
Ensure any last-minute changes or adjustments are managed effectively.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in leadership front-of-house roles in hospitality or events, with a strong focus on guest service.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations gracefully.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the events schedule.
