Dr Paul Froomes is a Melbourne-based consultant physician and gastroenterologist who aims to provide the best in health care for all problems related to the gastrointestinal tract and the liver.

We are looking for an experienced, knowledgable and hard working medical receptionist to join our team full-time for an 8-12 month maternity leave contract.

We are located in the heart of Moonee Ponds, close by to public transport, shops and supermarkets. Option to work one day in Prahran rooms with Dr Froomes.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, flexible start and finish times between these hours.

Qualifications & experience

Gentu/Genie software experience highly regarded

Health fund/Medicare/DVA billing and batching

Patient invoicing

Medical terminology

Product sales

Minimum 1 year experience in medical administration/reception role - Must have suitable experience to be considered.

Tasks & responsibilities

Greeting patients

Answering and managing incoming calls/emails

Booking theatre/appointments

Inpatient/outpatient billing and health fund batching

Clarify and sell products and treatment programs prescribed to patients

Appointment/procedure recalls

Banking

Liaising with hospitals/day procedure centres

Diary management

Ad hoc tasks such as emailing, scanning documents
