About Us
Biodiversity McLaren Vale (BMV) is a joint initiative of local community, industry and government. An incorporated community group, we work in partnership with local landholders to remove feral vegetation from creek lines within the McLaren Vale region and replace them with native plant species. With a goal to double the biodiversity of our region, BMV holds monthly Field Days throughout the year as well as regular workshops and special events.
About the Role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as Project Officer. This is a diverse role, with the Project Officer supporting all facets of BMV’s operations and the ongoing direction of the Management Group. BMV operates in the McLaren Vale region; however, this position is flexible and allows the successful applicant to work from home, you will also be expected to attended various stakeholder sites on an as needed basis, monthly management meeting and the monthly field days. The role is 0.5 FTE and this is self-directed to be completed at your discretion.
The core functions of the role includes:
Planning, managing and co-ordinating the efficient and effective delivery of BMV’s various programs and activities, including our Field Day calendar; organisation and management of supplies, planting materials, equipment and other resources for our monthly Field Days, as well as co-ordination of contractors as required
Attending Field Days
Attending monthly Management Group meetings and liaising with the chair on an ongoing basis
Regular site visits to locations around McLaren Vale
Skills Required
Essential
Current SA driver’s licence and a reliable car
Working With Children Check
Knowledge of and a passion for environmental and/or land care work and a commitment to environmental conservation and regeneration;
Demonstrated experience in project management with strong organisational skills,
High level interpersonal, engagement and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously
Desirable
Relevant Project Management or Environmental related qualifications
Knowledge of the Willunga Basin’s local native species and weeds and their best practice management;
Experience working with community and volunteer groups, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage and involve the community in a range of programs, events and activities.

O.5 part time role with remuneration of $35/hr, negotiable
