The Role

We’re seeking a detail-focused Housing Utilities Officer to take the lead in processing and managing utility payments across a portfolio of properties. This critical role ensures the timely and accurate payment of electricity, gas, council rates, land taxes, and other related charges. You’ll use your investigative, analytical, and communication skills to resolve exceptions and maintain
financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate payment of utilities including electricity, gas, council rates, and land tax
  • Investigate and resolve exceptions identified via electronic data matching
  • Liaise with councils, utility providers, and other stakeholders to resolve payment issues
  • Ensure on-time payments to avoid penalties
  • Maintain system integrity and internal documentation
  • Provide advice and support to internal and external customers
  • Identify and implement business improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to FOI requests and compliance processes

You

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in using and adapting to multiple IT systems
  • Solid understanding of financial administration and accounting principles
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working with utilities, councils or public sector finance is advantageous
