School to Work Coordinator

The Highlands Local Learning and Employment Network (Highlands LLEN) is looking for a School to Work Coordinator to develop partnerships and programs which result in an increase of school-employer engagement activities that assist secondary school students understand their career pathways.

The Highlands LLEN services the geographical boundaries which encompass the City of Ballarat, Moorabool, Hepburn, Pyrenees and Golden Plains (North) Shires.

The Key Duties and Responsibilities are:

The key responsibilities of the School to Work Coordinator are to:

contribute to place-based strategies and community/industry partnerships to pursue leading practice and system change.

through brokerage of partnerships, work with the DE Area Team, schools and the broader community to source, advertise and facilitate access to appropriate school-employer engagement activities that are tailored to local priorities

be aware of the evidence-base for implementation of strategies that will increase the number, quality and range of school-employer engagement activities that support students to expand their knowledge and skills and promote effective course and career decisions.

understand priority and growth industries in the Highlands region and the needs of schools.

meet all DE contractual requirements and ensure that all reports meet standards required under the contract guidelines within the designated timeframes.

develop a range of program evaluation strategies that include feedback from students and improvement mechanisms.

strengthen relationships between all key stakeholders, particularly education, the broader community and industry.

ensure all data collected is maintained in accordance with relevant policy and procedures, and confidentiality compliance.

participate in appropriate committees, working parties and other groups.

share knowledge and expertise across Victorian LLENs to facilitate effective delivery of the LLEN programs in all areas of the state.

work with the Executive Officer and HLLEN staff to develop strategic plans, work plans, environmental scans, and other key documents as required.

Other duties may be required by the Highlands LLEN Executive Officer in response to the changing environment.
