About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a skilled and experienced practitioner to join our Mental Health Services Division in a permanent part-time position as a shared Co-ordinator of our Families & Parents with a Mental Illness (FaPMI) Program.
This position will adopt a comprehensive approach to promote the Mental Health and well-being of families where a parent has a mental illness. The FaPMI Coordinator will have a significant role in developing strong relationships with key stakeholders in the region who work with children, youth and families and in contributing to the professional development needs of these service providers. The FaPMI Co-ordinator will also provide a range of consultations, both primary and secondary, to support practitioners who are working with parents who have experienced a mental illness. The FaPMI Co-ordinator will work in line with the Strategic directions identified for all FaPMI co-ordinators through the Bouverie Centre.
Position Overview
- Employment Type: Permanent, Part (48 hours per fortnight)
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, or Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist Grade 3
- Salary Range: $101,597 - $123,905 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
You will be a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Social Worker with current registration (AHPRA or AASW) and significant experience in mental health experience, particularly in supporting families and young people aged 0-18 years.
You will also have:
- A solid understanding of research and evidence-based practices supporting families where a parent has a mental illness
- Experience designing and delivering professional development and training
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities related to mental health, children, young people, and families
