About the role

If successful, you will work in close collaboration with InTouch, other Project partners and relevant AMES employees to ensure that AMES meets its obligations under the Intouch Partnership Schedule. This will enable AMES to equip and empower humanitarian entrants, other vulnerable migrants and their communities with the knowledge and tools in the prevention of Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence.

To be considered for these positions, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • Substantial experience (minimum of 5 years) in project coordination or management within the settlement, community development, primary prevention of family violence or drug and alcohol sectors
  • Conceptual understanding of issues associated with violence against women and its prevention is essential
  • Has developed strong networks within Settlement services or family violence services in one or more of the program locations
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee complex, multi-location programs including resource allocation, team coordination and excellent partner and stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional communication skills – including the ability to lead and engage participants in discussion sessions and presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management, including demonstrated skills in stakeholder collaboration, motivation and negotiation
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain networks with communities and/or relevant service providers within Settlement services or family violence services
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by migrant and refugee communities, including systemic barriers to justice and wellbeing and an understanding of the differing views of these communities towards domestic family violence and how these may be misaligned to views in Australia
  • Strong written skills to prepare reports and meet the needs of a range of audiences
  • Capacity to work autonomously, be highly self-motivated whilst retaining accountability for work undertaken
