ABOUT THE ROLE

Darumbal Enterprises Pty Ltd is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Contracts and Grants Project Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation delivering meaningful community services and development initiatives.

In this full-time role based in Rockhampton, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing contracts and grants, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and in line with funding requirements. Your work will be central to the success of our program, helping the organisation to maintain strong relationships with funding bodies and achieve positive outcomes for the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the first contact point for proponents that seek to establish ILUAs and CHIMAs and manage and maintain relationships with clients.

Establish budgets for negotiations, coordinate discussions with proponents, Darumbal board members, lawyers and archaeologists or other specialist to progress agreement negotiations.

Attend onsite trips and meetings, assist with drafting of commercial terms, employment pathways, and other compensation in regard to agreements.

Increase funding and partnerships opportunities by identifying and exploring potential new opportunities.

Negotiating with stakeholders and drafting business proposals.

Conducting research to identify new business opportunities and viable income streams.

Research, write and submit tenders, grant applications or other submission documents. Liaise with staff performing grant work and the CFO to ensure grant monies are appropriately expended and reporting is completed.

Pro-actively work with the Department of Defence, Local Councils, and other Proponents in regard to land use and cultural heritage agreements to develop businesses and employment pipelines for Darumbal people.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as business administration or a related discipline

Minimum 2 years' experience in contract or grant management, preferably in the community services or not-for-profit sector

Strong understanding of contract and grant compliance requirements, including reporting and acquittal processes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders

Proven project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and deliver outcomes within deadlines

Proficient in using relevant software and technology to support contract and grant management activities

Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusion, and supporting Indigenous and multicultural communities
