Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Research Project Officer to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.

The AusHSI Research Project Officer will provide research project support across a range of externally funded major research projects, particularly the Powerful Pictures study and the Evaluation of the Australian Teletrial Program. The position works collaboratively with the research project team, Centre Manager and academic staff to deliver exceptional research project outcomes. The Research Project Officer displays strong organisational skills in managing competing research project activities, particularly ethical and governance approval processes, stakeholder engagement and record keeping.

The Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI) is a research, advisory and training Centre. Based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, AusHSI currently leads several NHMRC and MRFF grants, completes a range of health service consultancy projects and provides paid expertise and input into a wide range of Queensland and national research activities into the organisation, funding, and delivery of health services..

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of an undergraduate degree in conjunction with at least three years subsequent relevant experience working on research projects within a university or clinical research setting.
  2. Demonstrated strong organisational skills including the ability to manage time efficiently and meet tight deadlines within the context of competing demands.
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, communicate and problem solve with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
  4. Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit ethics and governance applications, and research project materials with a high degree of accuracy.
  5. Demonstrated high level of attention to detail in drafting correspondence, data entry, and document handling, with digital literacy skills in Microsoft programs including Outlook and SharePoint, corporate systems and ethics management software systems.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve team-based outcomes, and to work autonomously to set objectives, review priorities and manage workload.
