Role Overview: Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sales and Country Director will be responsible for leading and shaping the strategic direction of the company's Australian operations with a clear focus on sales development. This includes expanding the customer base, increasing revenue, and improving profitability. The Sales and Country Director is overall responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, managing internal and external partnerships, and overseeing employees to ensure the smooth operation of the company and the achievement of growth.
Main Responsibilities:
Sales Director:
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share growth objectives.
Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring revenue targets are exceeded.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
Identify new market opportunities and expand the customer base.
Develop and formalize the agency network and bring transparency to operations.
Promote customer satisfaction and retention by ensuring high service levels and proactive problem resolution.
Country Director:
Operational management ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
Build and develop the culture within the local entity.
Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility, to ensure sustainable growth.
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring business resilience and regulatory compliance.
Comply with all local laws and regulations.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, clients, partners, and government agencies.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience in strategic sales in Australia.
Demonstrable success in a senior sales role, leading a team, achieving results, and annual growth, specifically in the recycling/circular economy industry.
Excellent experience in negotiating with clients and stakeholders.
Experience in business planning, forecasting, and results analysis.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with C-level contacts.
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to navigate regional norms and etiquette effectively.
Ability to work in an international organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
A strong passion for leading, developing, and inspiring the team and local operations.
Expected Experience and Qualifications:
At least 5 years of corporate sales experience in the technical field, with a strong track record of closing high-value deals.
Deep understanding of the recycling sector in Australia.
Knowledge of mobile/static machine sales is a plus.
Preferably, previous experience in a similar role as Country Director or General Manager.
