ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is a proudly Australian-owned business with decades of experience in the equipment and tool hire industry. They’ve built a solid reputation by doing things the right way—backing their customers with top gear, solid advice, and good old-fashioned service. They work across construction, civil, trade, events, infrastructure, and maintenance, supporting everyone from sole traders to national builders.
As their business continues to grow, they’re looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join their team in Sydney.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a new business role where you’ll be front and centre driving growth across the Sydney metro area. Your focus will be on selling hire solutions—from scissor lifts and site sheds to power tools and access equipment—to the construction, trade, and industrial sectors.
You won’t just be taking orders. You’ll be out on the road, walking sites, getting to know clients, and being a trusted partner who knows what gear they’ll need before they do. You’ll also work closely with the operations and branch teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
What you'll be doing:
Prospecting and securing new customers across construction, trade, infrastructure, and related sectors
Building strong, ongoing relationships with clients—you're not just selling gear, you're solving problems
Working closely with the branch and operations team to ensure the right equipment is where it needs to be
Quoting, following up leads, and managing your pipeline to hit sales targets
Representing the company at industry events and on-site visits
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience in business development or territory sales, ideally in equipment hire, construction, building products, or industrial services
Someone who thrives out in the field—you like to get on site, talk to tradies, and build real relationships
A self-starter who knows how to hustle and can manage their time without being micro-managed
Strong communication and negotiation skills—you're confident, but also know when to just listen
A current driver’s licence is essential
SALARY & BENEFITS
BASE $80,000 - $100,000 | Super 11.5% | Car or Car Allowance | Commissions
