Join City of Moreton Bay as a Technical Officer - Contracts Management, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
Our Waste and Resource Recovery Department provides affordable, sustainable and safe waste management for residents and business in the Moreton Bay region. Waste and Resource Recovery delivers a wide range of waste management activities, including kerbside general waste, comingled recycling and garden organics collections, the operation of three major waste management facilities with landfills, two Treasure Markets and nine waste transfer stations. Other key activities include impact monitoring and long-term waste and recycling strategy, planning, education and capital programs and stakeholder liaison.
As a Technical Officer - Contracts Management, your duties will vary and utilise a working knowledge of Council’s Waste and Resource Recovery Contract Management processes and practices, Council’s Procurement Framework and industry knowledge to:
- act as a key point of contact and escalation for a range of contract management and operational matters and requirements;
- track and forecast contract spend for quarterly budget reviews and annual budgeting.
- undertake contract administration and recordkeeping responsibilities including the preparation of reports, briefing notes and submissions; and
- monitor and report on contractor performance and procurement compliance.

About you
This is a great opportunity to share your waste management industry experience and contract management expertise. We're looking for someone with:
- a solid level of understanding of contract management principles
- an ability to manage technical solutions to support and improve the effective management of all major waste contracts;
- highly developed interpersonal skills with a strong focus on the provision of quality customer service;
- strong attention to detail, diligence and effective time management skills to meet conflicting deadlines and priorities;
- strong skills in MS Office, specifically Excel spreadsheeting and Word; and
- significant relationship building and management skills.
You'll also hold a Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
