Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for data accuracy and asset management? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a motivated Asset Technical Officer to join our Asset Management team in a permanent full-time capacity based in the heart of Mackay CBD.
About this opportunity:
Working under general direction, the Asset Technical Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate, up-to-date asset data for inclusion in the organisation's asset management electronic systems. This role supports the delivery of asset management functions that enable efficient work processes and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, analyse, and record asset attribute data into Council's Asset Management System.
- Create and maintain asset records in Assetic and GIS systems using as-constructed data and information from asset owners.
- Record and update asset data in Council's GIS mapping system.
- Assist in developing asset management strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Provide training and advice on the use of Assetic.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support best practice asset management outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in asset data management.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail orientated and technically efficient in data interpretation and applications.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Qualifications or experience in Asset Management, Engineering, Information Management, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- QLD "C" Class Driver's Licence (or interstate equivalent).
- Experience with asset management systems (e.g., Assetic) and GIS tools is highly desirable.
