As part of our next phase of growth, we’re seeking an experienced Part-Time Senior Facility Manager to manage a small portfolio of buildings and play a mentoring/support role to one of our developing FMs.
The Opportunity
This is more than a traditional FM role. It’s a chance to bring your building knowledge, systems expertise, and people skills into a leadership position where you can help shape standards and coach others—without needing to work full-time hours.
You’ll work alongside our director and operations team, bringing stability, structure, and support to our on-the-ground FM while also managing a handful of properties directly.
We’re open to tailoring this around 2–3 days/week (or equivalent flexible hours).
Role Overview: As a Facility Manager at BFM, you'll be a key player in managing residential facilities, overseeing trades and services, and ensuring compliance. Your attention to detail is vital for identifying maintenance needs. What makes us unique? What You'll Do
Manage and coordinate trades and services for residential facilities
Identify maintenance needs and ensure timely action
Oversee compliance and quality across a select portfolio
Use our cloud-based FM platform to log tasks, update notes, and manage progress
Attend occasional Committee and AGM meetings
Provide informal leadership and coaching to junior staff, helping them grow in areas like prioritisation, follow-through, and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
Solid experience in facilities management or construction, preferably with strata/residential exposure
Confident using FM platforms or similar job tracking systems
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Organised and proactive—able to manage yourself and others well
Calm under pressure, with a coaching mindset
Ideally suited to someone semi-retired, returning to work, or seeking a reduced/flexible load with impact
