The Organisation:
This prominent and thriving mining organisation is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant. This business has sites in production in a critical commodity sector. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will find him to be a good leader, lateral thinker and someone with a proven track record of developing staff. This will be a pivotal role that will enable you to continue developing your career and gain amazing exposure to the mining sector. This will be a six-month role with potential for extending or converting to perm.

Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the key responsibilities of the successful candidate are the following:

• Maintaining General Ledger accounts
• Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Preparation and analysis of monthly Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement and comparison to budget
• Preparation of financial reporting
• Tax compliance - FBT, BAS, payroll tax
• Maintaining capital expenditure, fixed asset and depreciation schedules
• Liaising with auditors
• Backfill support for the Accounts Payable and Purchasing departments
• Working on ad hoc projects as and when required, for learning and self-growth

Your Profile:
To truly succeed and thrive in this exciting position, you will need to be disciplined, focused, and results-driven! You should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with stakeholders across the business. You will need to have the ability to look at the bigger picture and to understand things in context, but also be able to drill down into the detail.

To be considered for this role, you will either have solid commercial experience working as a Financial Accountant for large, complex businesses or you will be coming from a strong audit background and looking to transition into a commercial role where your work will have a direct ongoing impact in the business. You will also have strong Excel skills and large systems experience on either SAP, Pronto, JDE, BAAN or Finance One.
