The Organisation:
A well-respected QLD Government Department is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. You will be working for an organisation that has played a significant role in directly impacting the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. You will be reporting to a manager who is knowledgeable, supportive and considerate of her staff. The team environment is friendly, helpful and tight-knit. This will be a 6-month temporary role with a strong possibility of extension.

In this position, you will be required to:

• Provide expert tax assistance with a key focus on Fringe benefits tax returns;
• Assist in providing FBT data to an external accounting firm in order to meet deadlines.
• Undertake independent reviews of data accuracy;
• Ensure the integrity of the General Leger and Subsidiary ledgers by undertaking critical reviews and recommending action as necessary.
• Oversee and prepare technical position papers on financial accounting related matters where necessary.

Your Profile:
In order to be successful in this role, you will need:

• Thorough and extensive knowledge of FBT rulings and legislation
• Proven attention to detail
• Driven ability to work independently
