This newly created role has been introduced to support expansion and strengthen the organisation’s financial management capabilities.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while leading a small transactional finance team. This hands-on position is responsible for overseeing month-end processes, maintaining ERP accuracy, preparing financial reports, and supporting ongoing system and process improvements. The role is ideal for a CA/CPA-qualified accountant with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience — either from a mid-tier accounting firm looking to move into industry or from a commercial role seeking to take the next step into leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small transactional finance team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Bookkeeper).
- Maintain ERP data integrity and ensure accurate cost allocations aligned with budgets and projects.
- Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journals, and reporting.
- Prepare accurate monthly management reports and variance analysis for review by the CFO.
- Maintain divisional profit and cost models across multiple business units.
- Investigate margins, trends, and variances to provide actionable insights.
- Support external audit, tax, and compliance requirements.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and project support as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and reporting automation initiatives (e.g. Power BI).
Skills and Experience
- CA or CPA qualified (or in final stages).
- 4–6 years’ experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or business services.
- Experience in a mid-tier or large accounting firm advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP systems and data reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills and commercial acumen.
- Confident working in a fast-paced SME environment.
