Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Workshop Manager – Waste Management Industry

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop, overseeing a large fleet of waste management trucks, including water carts, bin trucks, sweeper trucks, and vacuum excavation trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a large fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

• Lead and manage a team of mechanics and workshop staff, ensuring productivity and performance targets are met.

• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed to industry safety and quality standards.

• Monitor workshop operations to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Train, mentor, and develop staff to build a high-performing team.

• Manage parts inventory, procurement, and workshop budgets.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar heavy-duty diesel mechanic or workshop management role.

• Extensive hands-on experience with heavy diesel vehicles, including hydraulics and diagnostics.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage staff and drive performance across the board.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
