ABOUT THE JOB:
A key focus of this role is to ensure the efficient and profitable management of both the quotation process and fast fabrication of customised HomeMod solutions. The role has direct management of Workshop staff (x2), and plays a critical link to the on-site Installer team (x4) and Customer Care team (x4).
The primary responsibility of this role is the management of workshop operations and personnel; however, it also requires strong technical proficiency and a practical mindset to ensure accurate quoting, effective project execution, and hands-on leadership in staff training and development.
Key focus areas:
Direct Workshop staff & support the Installer team:
Provide expert technical advice to direct our Workshop and Installer staff to ensure efficient fabrication and installation of customised HomeMod solutions.
Quotations:
Support the Customer Care team by delivering quotes for custom jobs in a timely and profitable manner (accurately forecast labour and materials).
Where appropriate, specify/draft detailed fabrication and installation instructions to Workshop & Installer staff.
Workshop Management:
Manage a strict production schedule and update work-in-progress status.
Management of inventory levels for raw materials and stock items.
Ensure product quality by providing guidance of fabrication, SOP's and QC sign-off.
Personal responsibility to ensure that the workshop have the products & materials ready by 7am for each Installer's daily run schedule.
General focus area:
Workshop WHS: Instil a 'safety first' culture in everyday work. Train, implement and maintain all workshop WHS protocols (SOPs & MSDS).
Staff: Assist with recruitment, training and performance management of workshop staff (x2).
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Construction related trade qualification required (Minimum certificate 3).
Proof of managing staff within a construction related capacity.
Strong technical expertise in Carpentry or Metal Works (or both) to guide and manage workshop staff in the fabrication of both timber and metal solutions. Ability to instruct Installers for on-site work.
Competent Computer Skills: Ability to use common applications maintain digital records.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: (or willing to obtain)
A current National Police Check and WWCC.
Ability to complete a Pre-Employment Medical Health Check (at our expense).
Be an Australian resident or have Permanent Residency.
