About the role

Kitson Manufacturing Solutions' is seeking a highly experienced Workshop Manager to lead our production team in Parkes, NSW. As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality production to meet the needs of our clients. This is a full-time permanent position based in our Parkes facility.

What you'll be doing

Monitor staff performance and constantly review training needs.

Maintain equipment according to the set schedule.

Ensure that staff work within company policies and guidelines.

Supervise and manage a team of fabricators, welders, and other workshop personnel. Schedule, delegate, and coordinate tasks among team members to ensure effective workflow. Complete all job procurement activities associated with each job.

Ensure consumables and materials are on hand and available.

QA/QC checks, ensuring compliance with documents.

Resource forecasting weekly.

Pricing and quoting as required, in association with Project Manager.

Ensure workshop flow and efficiencies with job front end loading, including materials, consumables, drawings, QA documents etc.

Oversee the fabrication of projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to -project timelines and specifications.

Workshop document management.

Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment

Technical Certification in Fabrication, Welding, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Strong technical skills in welding and boilermaking, with demonstrated expertise in various fabrication techniques

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team

Knowledge of relevant health, safety and quality regulations in the manufacturing industry
