Who We Are
Ghanem Group is a pioneering, multi‑award‑winning, family‑owned hospitality group with a proud 45‑year history in Queensland and Victoria. Renowned for exceptional service and unforgettable dining experiences, we’ve established ourselves as one of Brisbane’s most influential hospitality groups, creating beautifully designed spaces where food, drink and community come together.
The Venue
Located in an exciting riverside precinct, this newly relaunched bottle shop will be part of a major refurbishment of the iconic The Fox Hotel (Fish Lane, South Brisbane) by Ghanem Group.
The 120 m² shop features a range spanning from entry level to super‑premium bottles. The design is geared toward high‑frequency convenience shopping and top notch product advice and customer service. There’s also a strong opportunity to build a wine‑programme in conjunction with our on‑premise venues and experienced sommeliers.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished Bottleshop Manager to lead this new outlet as we open early 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned retail beverage professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, retail‑driven environment and takes pride in delivering premium product experiences. You’ll bring leadership, commercial acumen and flair to this freshly relaunched site.
You’ll oversee all retail operations, from stock management and product ranging to team recruitment/training and e‑commerce growth strategy. Working closely with the venue management and the group team, you’ll elevate the bottle‑shop offering while contributing your own ideas and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Create effective rosters for retail operations and quickly resolve staffing issues to ensure the shop is appropriately and effectively staffed.
Monitor and order alcoholic stock and appropriate ancillary products in line with retail performance and group standards.
Assist in developing and maintaining the product range (wine, beer, spirits) and promotional programmes, with guidance from senior management.
Ensure all products are up to date and entered with correct recipes/pricing in the POS back‑office system.
Receive orders and invoice: stock to be checked and signed on the day of delivery; all invoices to be completed and filed on time.
Hire and train staff to provide excellent customer service, working with front‑of‑house team members on product knowledge (especially wine) and upselling techniques.
Keep up to date with liquor licensing and legislation changes, ensuring all staff uphold RSA at all times.
Act as escalation point for handling customer concerns/complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure bottle‑shop operations integrate and complement the overall venue’s operations.
Undertake day‑to‑day sales floor duties, supervise the retail team and support staffing behind the scenes.
To be successful you will have:
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar manager role in a retail drinks/packaged liquor environment of comparable size.
Demonstrated experience managing a site with significant customer footfall and retail volume.
A creative and passionate mindset about beverages, especially wine and beer.
Stand‑out customer service skills, with the ability to connect with customers and team members alike.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.
Understanding and experience adhering to health and safety standards, liquor licensing and retail regulations.
Unquestionable commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

The chance to work in one of Brisbane’s landmark hospitality venues, as part of a major relaunch.
