About the role

Chislett Farms is seeking a talented Irrigation Manager to join our dynamic team on our farm located in Narrung, VIC. As our Irrigation Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimising the irrigation systems that are crucial to the productivity and sustainability of our farming operations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the success of our family-owned business.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing comprehensive irrigation strategies to maximise water usage efficiency and crop yields

Analysing soil moisture and weather data to make informed decisions about irrigation scheduling and water application rates

Collaborating with the farm management team

Identifying and troubleshooting any issues with the irrigation system, and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner

Providing training and guidance to farm staff on the proper operation and maintenance of irrigation equipment

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar irrigation management role, ideally within the agricultural or horticultural industry

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with farm management and staff

Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining detailed records and documentation

A valid driver's licence and the ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekend and after-hours calls

Australian work authorisation is required for this position

Certificate or Diploma in irrigation management or related field is preferred
