About the Role
The General Manager Southern Citrus is responsible for overseeing and implementing all operational and capital development plans across four southern citrus farms, whilst leading by example in cultivating a high performing, value driven culture. Working closely with the Head of Farming, this is a senior leadership position to drive best practice operations, cost efficiency and optimum yield for all Citrus assets.
Role Responsibilities
• Develop weekly and monthly plans for farm operations to ensure agronomic priorities are upheld.
• Develop crop forecasts for each asset and deliver information in a timely, systematic manner.
• Oversee scheduled harvest programs in collaboration with the supply chain manager.
• Development of direct cost and capital expenditure budgets for the citrus category.
• Working closely with the Project Manager and Head of Farming to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and on budget.
• Daily and weekly cost reporting to Head of Farming to understand variation to budget and improve labour efficiency across assets.
• Mentoring, training, and coaching of farm managers to provide optimum efficiency of on farm operations.
• Champion the Redland values and culture, demonstrating high standards of integrity and accountability, holding yourself and others responsible for delivering exceptional performance.
Skills and Experience
• Bachelor of Applied Science (horticultural, viticulture or agricultural science)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Australian drivers licence
• Management qualifications strongly regarded
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of citrus farming
