The Farm: We are a family-owned, 500-cow dairy farm at Cowwarr. We're a growing and developing business, looking for a reliable 2IC - Assistant Farm Manager for a long-term role. Dairy is a 28 a side swing over herringbone with stall gates and cup removers.

The Job: This is a hands-on role where you will support the Farm Manager in all day-to-day operations, we have plans for growth and development and are looking for a motivated 2IC to join our team of 3-4 others, executing our operational plans, growing and learning with us.

Main duties/Area to oversee:

Rostering, time management, teaching and guidance to other employees.

Executing operational plans made with farm manager.

Aiming for and reporting on agreed key farm KPIs.

Prioritise and enforce safe working practices and policies.

Dairy shed operations, and maintaining plant hygiene.

Herd health and record keeping, identifying and treating problems.

Calving and calf rearing.

Pasture allocation, fencing, residuals.

Basic machinery operation (feeding etc).

General farm upkeep (fences, water troughs, etc.).

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in the dairy industry.

Especially good people management skills and experience is essential.

Minimum 3-5 years of dairy industry experience required.

Genuinely good with cows and high standards for animal welfare.

You need to be reliable, honest, respectful, able to take responsibility, want to learn and teach, and lead by example.
